Officials will be visiting the levee system of the Connecticut River in East Hartford and Hartford on Tuesday.
U.S. Rep. John B. Larson will meet with Col. Charles P. Samaris, Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in New England, to discuss the viability of the levee systems, according to a news release from Larson’s office.
Larson’s office said floods are some of the most common and costly types of natural disasters and it is critical to adequately fund and maintain the water infrastructure.
