New Haven Police are asking for the public's help as they investigate an early morning shooting that left one man dead.
Police responded to the area of 39 Thompson St. around 2 a.m. to investigate a report of shots fired.
When they arrived, they discovered Eric Forbes, 33 of Hamden, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. Forbes was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 2:28 a.m.
Detectives learned that Forbes had left the Taurus Club just minutes before he was shot. Witness told police that the victim had an altercation with two unknown males prior to the shooting.
