The former owner of a Plainfield company that provided DJ and lighting work for school dances and proms has been charged with sexually assaulting multiple children and possession of child pornography.

In April 2012, Plainfield police went to J Productions, at 54 Oakwood Boulevard, with a search and seizure warrant and sent evidence found to a lab for analysis.

At 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police arrested James Holmes, 29, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, on charges including possession of child pornography, employing a minor in an obscene performance and two counts each of sexual assault in the second degree, sexual assault in the fourth degree, risk of injury to a minor and illegal sexual contact.

Holmes was held on a $200,000 bond and was arraigned at the Danielson Superior Court.

J Productions performed at schools all over New England, including schools within the Town of Plainfield. It also worked at weddings charity events and provided equipment rentals and photography services.
