A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the entire state until 9 p.m.
A few isolated storms are possible before 5 p.m. Those thunderstorms may contain lightning, gusty winds, small hail and heavy rain. With saturated ground and already high small rivers and streams pockets of flash flooding are possible as well.

A severe thunderstorm warning was posted for parts of Fairfield County until 2:30 p.m. as a cell moved southeast through the area and into Long Island Sound.
More widespread thunderstorms will move in after 5 p.m. and those storms may become severe.
Tuesday could see another threat of storms.
