State police have pulled a body from the Connecticut River not far from the area where a man went missing last night while fishing.
According to a police, two people were fishing on the East Hartford side of the river Saturday evening when one went into the river to cool off and never reappeared.
At the time, police said that there was a strong current in the area.
Police say the man that went missing was in his 30s.
Both Hartford and East Hartford police activated a search. The Hartford dive team was also on scene. The search was terminated last night when state police discovered the body.
The body was transported to the office of the State Medical Examiner who will work to positively idenitfy the body.
Police expect an identification sometime Monday.
