The Hartford Police Major Crimes Division is investigating after a heavy object fell onto a toddler at a home on Garden Street, crushing the child, authorities said.
According to police, a 2-year-old boy was struck by a falling object on the second floor of a home at 431 Garden Street in Hartford.
Police said they believe adults were inside the home at the time of the incident and the incident appears to be accidental.
According to Lt. Brian Foley with the Hartford Major Crimes Division, the child was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center and is currently listed in critical condition in the ICU as of Sunday morning.
The incident is still under investigation.
