Norwich Drug Factory Operating Near 2-Year-Old: Police

A Norwich parolee was arrested this morning after police discovered that he had been selling drugs from his Goldberg Avenue apartment while a toddler was around, authorities said.

Michael T. O’Brien, 26, of 9 Goldberg Avenue, was arrested this morning after detectives found heroin, packaging and processing materials and more than $1,200 in cash in his apartment, according to police.

Police said there was also a two-year-old child “located in close proximity” to the drugs.

O’Brien, who is currently on parole for unrelated firearms charges, was taken into custody. He was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, operation of a drug factory and risk of injury to a minor.

O’Brien is due in court Sept. 5.
