Police are investigating an early-morning shooting in Woodbridge in the area of Morris Road.
Police said the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. Two men and two women were in a car driving down Morris Road when the two female passengers started to argue. The car pulled over near the woods, at which point one of the male passengers became involved in the argument. He shot one of the women two times and took off, according to police.
The victim, in her 20s, was taken to New Haven Hospital and is in stable conditon, police said.
Police say the shooter is on the loose. They are searching for him and say they will release his identity soon.
The State Police Major Crimes Unit is at the scene. Police have blocked off the road.
