A fast-moving fire destroyed two condos in New Haven early this morning.
The blaze broke out at 1010 Quinnipiac Avenue around 2 a.m. Monday. The flames started in one unit and spread to another.
Both condos are destroyed, but firefighters managed to hold the flames at bay and prevent them from engulfing two more neighboring units, fire officials said.
Eight adults and one child escaped from the burning condos and are now homeless. They're being assisted by the Red Cross. No residents were injured, but three firefighters were sent to the hospital for exhaustion, according to the New Haven Fire Department.
Firefighters said they were able to extinguish the blaze around 3 a.m.
